Congratulations to the Aquinas College Chanel Shield team which finished third overall with some standout individual performances.
Just four points separated Aquinas and the overall winner of the annual contest between all five Hamilton Diocese colleges. Fifteen AC students from Years 9 to 13 participated, competing in speech categories, poetry readings, drama and debating at the two-day event in Rotorua. John Paul College won the overall title.

Aquinas Debate Team (Monique Faire and Noah Ball, both Yr 12, and Nina Young (Yr 11) – 1st in Debating
Grace Erskine-Shaw (Yr 10) – 2nd equal Junior Prepared Speech
Lucia Watt-Martinez (Yr 12) – 2nd Senior Poetry
Mia Rohrlach (Yr 12) – 3rd Māori Perspective Speech
