Congratulations to all our senior athletes who supported one another, competed fiercely and flew the Aquinas flag at Summer Tournament last week. Across every venue — from the court, pool, ocean to the arena — our teams showed great sportsmanship and produced some impressive results. We couldn’t be prouder.

PREMIER GIRLS WATER POLO – North Island Div 1 Champs, Auckland
With just eight players, it was a long week but the team showed plenty of grit. They girls pushed powerhouse schools like Epsom Girls’ and Baradene in tight matches, narrowly missing the top eight. Ending the tournament in 11th place, they won four of their seven games (including wins over St Kent’s, St Cuthbert’s and Westlake).
Special shoutout to goalie Maggie Glubb (Yr 13), who played her final game for AC!
Premier Boys: Thomas Magill (Yr 12) and Leo Billett (Yr 11) combined with Bethlehem College in a joint team at the North Island Div 2 champs. They finished 6th overall after placing third in pool play then winning a narrow extra-time penalty shootout in the semis.
FUTSAL SENIOR GIRLS – Northern Region Tournament
The competition featured top teams from some of the largest schools in NZ. For AC, this is a rebuilding year, with a young squad largely made up of Year 11 players. Results were mixed, but the consistency of effort and team spirit stood out across every game. A highlight was the huge 13–2 win over Ōtūmoetai College — last year’s national finalists. This Aquinas team is only getting started…
ROWING: Top 10 in New Zealand — what an achievement!
Sophie Harrison (Yr 12) and Oliver Marr (Yr 10) both placed 2nd in their B finals on Friday, securing 10th nationally in their respective events (U17 Girls Single & U16 Boys Single). An outstanding result at the highest level.
