AC Sporting Achievements

We love celebrating the achievements of Aquinians, past and present. Join us in celebrating the following students for their standout performances.

Jonty Waites & Lachlan Sutherland (both Yr 10) Rowing

Claimed bronze at the North Island Rowing Champs at Lake Karapiro in the novice men’s coxed quad skulls. Jonty took on the role of cox, while Lachlan combined with rowers from Papamoa College to deliver a podium finish at a major regatta.

Ineka Cartwright (Yr 13) Cricket

Was part of the Northern Districts U17 women’s team that finished third at the National U17 Tournament last month. She also lined up for the Aotearoa Secondary School women’s team, which won the recent Rangatahi Cricket Festival for Māori secondary school sides.

Flynn Gardiner (Yr 9) Basketball

A big shoutout to Flynn, who was recently invited to trial for the New Zealand U15 men’s basketball team. Being selected to trial at just 13 is a significant achievement and highlights him as a future player to watch.

Maya Perrett (Yr 10) BMX

Sending AC good luck vibes to Maya, who heads to Brisbane later this month to compete in the Oceania BMX Championships. We’ll be cheering you on!

Colgate Games Athletics

A big AC shoutout to the six students who competed at the national Colgate Games, taking on athletes from across NZ and Australia. Highlights include Daniel Addidle (Yr 11) placing 4th in 14-year boys’ 1500m and 800m, Sophie Reid (Yr 9) placing 10th in the 13-year girls’ 1500m, and Kaydence Martin (Yr placing 6th and 7th in the 11-year girls’ 1500m and discus.
