Exciting news, whānau. Aquinas is celebrating a rare achievement, with two students passing the prestigious New Zealand Netball Theory Qualification exam.
Congratulations to Year 13 students Aimee Cooper and Annie Sowerby. Their success places them among the Bay’s top emerging umpires. Schools rarely have even one student achieve this qualification, making it a significant milestone for Aquinas and an exciting step towards higher-level umpiring opportunities.
The qualification demonstrates an advanced understanding of netball rules, game management, interpretation, and decision-making under pressure. It also opens the door to officiating at premier-level tournaments and higher representative competitions.
Well done, Aimee and Annie. We can’t wait to see where your umpiring journey takes you next. 👏🏐
