Last month St Mary’s Catholic School celebrated its 75th Jubilee reunion and recognised 75 years of Catholic Education within Tauranga Moana. St Mary’s recognised the wider and growing contribution of other schools and organisations who promote the school’s Special Catholic Character across the city. It was under this umbrella that Aquinas was involved in the Picnic Fun Day. PTA, with the support of Taylor Brothers and some Aquinas students, organised and manned a complimentary sausage sizzle and provided free face painting for children. Ben Fuller, the St Mary’s School Principal, has expressed his appreciation of our involvement in the event.
At the PTA October meeting funding for Aquinas activities and projects was approved. The PTA is pleased to advise that funding has gone towards supporting the Senior Girls Volleyball team to assist them with costs they will incur in attending an upcoming tournament, we have contributed towards the leavers bibles and we have contributed to a nature garden being planted by the Science Faculty.
