Education Outside the Classroom: In early March Aquinas Level 2 Biology students visited the Tauranga Moana at Beach Road to investigate the ecology of the organisms that live in our local harbour.
While there, they took the opportunity to link the site of study Bishop Pompallier’s landing in Tauranga. They also linked our responsibility to be kaitiaki of the marine environment – ensuring that the mauri (life force) of the area is healthy and strong.
The students will use the data they have gathered to write a scientific report analyzing their findings.
