Uniforms

Students of Aquinas College should take pride in their appearance at all times. Students will present themselves in such a way to bring credit to their families, their schools and themselves.

The second hand uniform shop is located at the school and is open on Tuesdays from 1.30pm - 3.00pm during term time.

Uniform can be purchase from Greerton Menswear in Chadwick Road and from Active Outdoor Clothing.
PE uniform can be purchased from

The PE uniform can be purchased through NZ Uniforms (Canterbury) on Cameron Road opposite Tauranga Primary School. 
 
 
 

GIRLS SUMMER UNIFORM

YEARS 7-11

  • Short sleeved white shaped, piped blouse
  • Multi seasonal tartan wool-blend green/navy box pleated skirt
  • Mackinlay black leather sandals (compulsory)
  • Navy bucket-style school hat (compulsory for Years 7 9 students)
  • Green and navy jacket styled cardigan (girls are not permitted to wear the boys jersey)

YEARS 12-13

  • Short sleeved navy with green pin-stripe necked shaped blouse
  • Multi seasonal navy skirt, featuring front pleating detail
  • Mackinlay black leather sandals (compulsory)
  • Green and navy jacket styled cardigan (girls are not permitted to wear the boys jersey)

 

GIRLS WINTER UNIFORM

YEARS 7-11

  • White peter pan collared, long sleeved buttoned blouse
  • Monogrammed school tie
  • Multi-seasonal tartan wool-blend navy/green pleated skirt (same as summer)
  • Green and navy jacket styled cardigan (girls are not permitted to wear the boys jersey)
  • Black opaque tights
  • Black leather lace up shoes

YEARS 12-13

  • White peter pan collared long sleeved buttoned blouse
  • Monogrammed school tie
  • Multi-seasonal, navy skirt, featuring front pleating detail
  • Green and navy jacket styled cardigan (to be worn underneath blazer only and girls are not permitted to wear the boys jersey)
  • Green blazer, featuring monogram and ribbon trim
  • Black opaque tights
  • Black leather lace up shoes

It is compulsory for Y7-9 students to wear the school hat in Terms 1 and 4.
 

All students need to have a House T-Shirt, and PE Navy Taslan Shorts which are worn at PE, at school events (eg Athletics Day), and can be worn when playing at lunchtime.

NB GIRLS MAY NOT WEAR THE BOYS SCHOOL JERSEY AT ANY TIME

APPEARANCE

The following specific appearance items and instructions are considered part of the Uniform and Appearance requirements:

  1. Hair must be neatly presented and off the face.
  2. Boy's hair must be no longer than the tip of the shirt collar.
  3. Girl's hair (long) is to be tied back at all times, using green or navy hair-bands or ribbons only.
  4. Extreme hairstyles, eg No. 1s, Mohawks, dreadlocks, and changes of colour, are not permitted.
  5. No jewellery other than watches and one ear stud in each ear (girls).
  6. Girls may be permitted to have one plain (gold, silver) ear stud in each ear.
  7. Boys are not permitted to wear ear studs.
  8. No nail polish or makeup permitted.
  9. Coloured T-shirts or skivvies are not permitted under shirts. Any clothing worn under the uniform must not be visible.
  10. Boys shorts and trousers must be worn tidily at all times.
  11. Boys socks are worn up at all times.
  12. School bags and Art/Graphics folders should be clean of graffiti and offensive messages
  13. Tattoos that would be visible when the summer or winter uniform is worn, (eg on face, neck, lower arm, lower leg, foot) are not permitted.
  14. The approved school hat is to be worn outside by Year 7-9 students during the summer terms 1 and 4.
  15. All students need to have a House T-shirt and PE navy taslan shorts which are worn at PE, at school events (eg Athletics Day), and can be worn when playing at lunchtime.

We ask parents to back the College by ensuring your sons and daughters have the correct uniform and that they wear it correctly at all times. Help students to take responsibility for their appearance which will result in students having a uniform they can all be proud to wear.
