Learning Centre
Our Learning Centre, led by Mrs Roberts, caters for those students whose academic, social or behavioural needs may best be addressed by providing individual support. The focus may be on accelerate, extension, re-inforcement or remedial teaching and learning. All programmes are curriculum based and are the responsibility of teaching staff. Teacher Aide support is provided either in the classroom or in the Learning Centre, as appropriate to each student's needs.
The Learning Centre is situated in a full-size classroom, providing a bright and cheerful environment in which several individual students, or groups of students, may work at the various work stations. Computers are available for educational programmes. Staff have worked to establish a welcoming atmosphere, where all efforts and successes are encouraged and recognised.
Vision Statement
Aquinas College Learning Centre will provide a learning environment which enables each student to become a valued contributor to society. The Learning Centre will provide learning experiences, through the adaptation of the National curriculum, which are appropriate to the needs of each student. Students will experience success and advance learning.
