About the Sport:
Aquinas Hockey is now an established Hockey Club and is run by a committee of parents and staff. Aquinas College have competed successfully in hockey over the past few years, both at year 7 & 8 and Secondary Schools level. Teams play in a Tauranga Competition based at Blake Park, Mount Maunganui. All the Intermediate teams play on Friday night, the College Boys 1st XI and College Girls 2nd XI play on Monday nights and the College Girls 1st XI play on Tuesday nights.
Selections:
Where necessary, trials will be held at the end of Term 1
Practices/ Trainings:
- Practices for all teams are on Wednesday nights which in the past years these have been held at Tauranga Boys College.
- Fitness training sessions may be held at school
Competition:
Competition runs through Term Two and Three.
Uniform:
Players will be supplied with an Aquinas College Playing Uniform.
These items will be distributed by the Sports Co-ordinator prior to their first match.Students must ensure they return their 'specific' allocated item/s to the Sports Co-ordinator within a week of their final match.
Equipment:
Own hockey stick, shin pads, mouth guards, turf shoes
Cost:
Pre-reistration fee (non-refundable) $30.00. To be placed in a team, this fee is to be paid either by eftopos/cheque or cash : prior to trials and/or the announcement of teams. Note: This means the fee will not be charged to the student account.
In addition to the Pre-registration fee, approximate osts for the season will be
Intermediate: $130
College: $180.00
