About the Sport:
Aquinas College are an established Football Club made up of staff, parents and enthusiastic volunteers running football under the Aquinas banner.
We have 11 teams playing in either the Western BOP Junior Football competition, or with the Boys 1st & 2nd XI teams playing in the Baywide Youth leagues. Both boys and girls teams compete at all levels and we cater for the beginners up to local and federation representatives.
Currently we have teams in 12/13th, 14/15th, Junior Girls, Senior Girls and Baywide youth Boys’ Premier and Div 1.
Selections:
Registration and Trials will be held for all teams during Term 1.
Practices/ Trainings:
Before or after school trainings. Premier teams twice a week.
Competition:
2nd Saturday in term two until the 2nd to last Saturday of term three - an 18 week competition.
Year 7 & 8 boys and girls may compete in the NZAIMS games.
Sports exchanges between Sancta Maria (years 7/8), Campion College (years 9/10) and John Paul College (First XI’s).
First XI’s will also play in winter tournament week with a possibility of an additional trip overseas or within NZ.
Uniform:
1st XI and 2nd XI boys and girls and 14/15th grade premier boys wear Aquinas football strips consisting of shirts and shorts.
All other teams are issued with Aquinas playing Shirts and will be required to wear Aquinas PE Shorts.
Socks are to be Navy Lotto socks.(purchased by player)
Aquinas College Tracksuit ( optional purchased by player)
Equipment:
Soccer boots
Shin pads (compulsory)
Cost:
A base fee for all players will be $80.00.
This fee is payable at registration and before trials begin.
In addition to this base fee, 1st & 2nd XI boys, along with 1st XI girls will be expected to pay an additional amount of $70 - $100.00 to cover referee, travel and tournament costs. 1st XI players are all expected to be available for tournament week.
