Enrolments

Aquinas College is an Integrated State Catholic College and as such has 95% Preference enrolment and if places are available, up to 5% Non-Preference (mainly Non-Catholic) enrolment. If you are not sure that you meet the Preference criteria, please contact the Parish priest of your local parish to ensure that you have a Preference Card at the time of application.
The enrolment procedure requires an Application for Enrolment Form to be completed fully, and together with the Preference Card and the necessary supporting documentation outlined on the back page including the Student Technology Agreement, submitted to the College office by 30 April of the year preceding enrolment.

Each year, we have up to 110 places available at Year 7 and there may be limited other places available at Years 8 to Year 13.

Applications for positions will be processed during Terms 2 and 3 of the preceding year and all applicants will be notified in September. Any applications after September will be considered only if there are vacancies.

Fees (Voluntary Contribution)

As a Catholic Integrated School, the Catholic Diocese of Hamilton charges each student an Attendance Due of $680 pa (compulsory). This fee partially services the loans taken out by the Diocese and NZ Catholic Education to develop the College.
The Board of Aquinas has responsibility for governance including Finance, and as such, set the School Donation Fee for 2010 at $1200 pa per student. This is a voluntary contribution but the great majority of families have accepted the need to resource and staff the College adequately, and this school fee supplements the Operations Grant from the Ministry of Education. These fees support curricular and extra-curricular resources, and some of our necessary support staffing. Any Preference family whose financial or family circumstance are such that the full school fees are too difficult to meet, should talk to the Principal at the time of the enrolment interview.
